Built in Palmetto Dunes along the edge of the 12 mile beach which lines Hilton Head Island, this lovely 5 bedroom, 5 1/2 bathroom home with elevator, was designed with high ceilings and banks of windows to make the most of the magnificent ocean views. Decorated in tropical hues, the ground floor hosts the family room with wet bar and microwave as well as access to the covered patio and heated pool* and spa, perfect for a respite from the beach. There are also 2 junior master suites on this level, each with a king-sized bed, flat screen TVs, french doors to the patio, and private bath. The third bedroom on this level has 2 twin beds, and a private bath. The laundry room and a 1/2 bath complete the ground level. A grand staircase leads to the second floor with a spacious living room including a flat screen TV, fireplace, and more splendid sea views. The generous chef's kitchen with island is open to the ample dining room table placed in a windowed alcove. A large master bedroom suite on this floor with walk-in closets an en suite bathroom with double vanities, a Jacuzzi tub and separate shower, has marvelous ocean views and french doors leading to a covered deck. The second bedroom on this level has 2 twin beds and a hall bathroom next door. In addition to free internet access, guests also have free tennis at the Palmetto Dunes Tennis Center. For golfers, there are three courses by world-famous designers George Fazio, Robert Trent Jones, and Arthur Hills, which wind their way through the live oaks and long-leaf pines of the gated plantation as do the 11 miles of connected lagoons. Kayaks and canoes can be rented from Hilton Head Outfitters to explore the wildlife including alligators inhabiting the lagoons. Or rent bikes and travel the many bike paths which meander around the island. During the rental season, there is a free, door-to-door shuttle to Shelter Cove Marina, just across Rt. 278, where there is a wide array of shops and restaurants along the marina's edge. Charter fishing, dolphin watch cruises, and sunset dinner cruises can be arranged at the marina. And on Tuesday nights after the sun sets, there is a spectacular fireworks display. *Pool can be heated at an additional cost from April - November annually, please inquire in advance of your stay. |
