Offering an amazing palm-studded panorama of pool, beach, and unending ocean from nearly every room, this fifth floor Penthouse 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom villa in the gated community of Palmetto Dunes is a grand starting point for an island vacation. Accommodating up to 6, the villa has been updated throughout beginning with a new kitchen, which opens to a dining area seating 6, then to the living room with flat screen TV and well-cushioned furniture including a sleeper sofa, flanked by sliding glass doors to the balcony facing the rolling waves of the Atlantic. The master bedroom has a king-sized bed, flat screen TV and large private bath with custom cabinetry, as well as access to the balcony and superb views. The second bedroom has 2 twin beds and a bathroom that shares access with the hall. Laundry facilities and wireless internet access are also provided for this villa in an elevator building. Surrounded by landscaped grounds, the complex has a large oceanfront pool heated seasonally and surrounded by a deck with gazebo, tables and chairs and charcoal grill, as well as a private beach boardwalk with showers. Within Palmetto Dunes is the Tennis Center, with 17 courts available, and the golf club, which offers the choice of 3 designer courses, all geared to provide beautiful seaside and lagoon views as well as challenging a golfer's skills. Bike, kayak and canoe rentals are also within Palmetto Dunes and each provides a great way to explore the beauty of the Lowcountry, either by following the many designated bike paths winding beneath long leaf pines and Spanish moss draped oaks, or paddling along the 11 miles of connected lagoons where alligators sunbathe on the edge along with turtles and great blue herons looking for a meal. To head out to deeper waters, cross Hwy 278 to Shelter Cove Marina where fishing charters, dolphin and nature tours can be arranged.
