The secret of any good pizza is the sauce and few restaurant owners will give you their secret recipe. When people think of good pizza they may think of a Chicago deep dish or a slice of pepperoni from a pizza stand in New York City, but many Hilton Head Island pizza lovers have found that there are some restaurants here that can make a good pizza, even though we are not in a big city.
Many of the restaurants that make a good slice use imported water when making the dough and for some reason, they can import the New York City or Chicago pizza taste to our island. When you walk into a pizza place on Hilton Head Island, trust your instincts. If it smells good, it probably is good. If the name of the pizza place sounds Italian and the people making the pizza are Italian, chances are they are using a recipe that has been passed down from generation to generation.
The majority of the pizzerias on the island do deliver so if you don’t want to wait in line and you just want to sit back and enjoy a pie at home, pick up the phone and call for a pizza when you’re here. All of the major pizza chains are here as well if you do not want to try the local pies but either way, who’s going to say no to pizza? It’s a safe bet and everyone will be happy.
