Hilton Head Island has always been a premier vacation spot for children and families. There are a number of outdoor and indoor activities to keep children of all ages busy throughout your stay. Many of the Island's resorts have special programs to entertain young children all day long. In the evenings, there are singalong entertainers who have pleased families for more than twenty years at several locations. And don't skip the weekly fireworks in the summertime! We're all kids again as we watch those fantastic displays overhead!

If you're here to experience Hilton Head Island's great outdoor activities, most families head to the beach. Some may play a match of tennis or a round of golf. If you're looking for a great family activity, try renting bikes to pedal along the miles of bike trails through the nature preserves in Sea Pines and Hilton Head Plantation. You may even go out onto the water for a nature cruise or a couple of hours jet skiing. Fishing and crabbing are fun, too - but please don't approach any alligators. They are not local pets!

Want to stay cool in the summer? Try playing putt-putt on any of the local miniature golf courses. There are plenty of shopping stores and a mall for those rainy days, where there's a center-court playground and a game arcade, too.
