Hilton Head Time Shares

The timeshare idea was developed almost 50 years ago by at a ski resort in the French Alps, where guests were encouraged to buy into the hotel instead of just coming as temporary guests. Hilton Head Island time-shares are popular because they enable vacationers to own a piece of the island without having to pay bills on property throughout the year. The property's timeshare owners share the cost of running the property year-round. For a certain amount of time per year, timeshare owners vacation on Hilton Head in the property they have purchase shares with. It's a way for non-locals to feel like they live here, and those returning guests get the opportunity to build traditions with their families and friends for as long as they are members. In some cases, timeshares can be for up to 30 years! That's a lot of memories for generations to come!

Timeshares are available at a number of the island's apartment complexes, condominiums, villas, and many of Hilton Head's resort accommodations. Disney's Hilton Head Resort, Marriott's Surf Watch, and Sea Pines Resort all offer timeshare opportunities to interested vacationers. Waterside by Spinnaker is hotel-style complex selling timeshares; the Sea Crest Surf and Racquet Club is another; and Marriott's Sunset Pointe at Shelter Cove is yet another. Timeshares can be found both inside and out of local plantation, or private community, gates. Shelter Cove, containing two of Marriott's numerous resort and timeshare complexes on Hilton Head Island, is a section of the island that is not inside a gated community, though it is connected with neighboring community Palmetto Dunes. The Cottages at Shipyard Plantation are an example of gated community timeshares.
