For a family vacation, a Hilton Head Island resort is the place to go! Resorts here come in many forms. The Sea Pines Resort is a full-fledged community that's jam packed with amenities, activities, water sports, restaurants, and pretty much anything else you'd need for the perfect vacation! Other island resorts are hotel-style complexes. The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa and the brand-new Marriott Surf Watch Resort, for example, are two hotel chain resorts located along the beach in Port Royal Plantation.

Another plantation community, Palmetto Dunes, is known for having a large collection of resort accommodations within its gates. Disney's Hilton Head Resort, Disney's Beach House, the Hilton Oceanfront Resort, and Marriott's Oceanfront Resort are all part of Palmetto Dunes. Shipyard Plantation contains the Crowne Plaza Resort, whose guests may want to organize packages with the community's top-notch golf and tennis training facilities. Still more resorts are located beyond any community gates. The Hilton Head Beach & Tennis Resort is located in the Folly Field section of the island; and Marriott's Grande Ocean Resort is located along Forest Beach Drive, in the most popular tourist section of Hilton Head beach. Yet another Marriott resort is located waterfront in the Sea Pines Resort community.

A handful of Hilton Head's resorts have health and beauty spas either included or attached. The Hilton Oceanfront Resort has the Ocean Tides spa, and another lovely spa complex is located at the Daufuskie Island Resort & Breathe Spa, on nearby Daufuskie Island, accessibly only by ferry from Hilton Head Island or Savannah.
